2020 Convention Friday Highlights: Information Control and Hypocrisy
by neat blue dog inthere's yet another talk to add to the list of talks written specifically for damage control against "apostates".
the speaker says, "some who were once part of the christian congregation attempt to mislead us", that they tell "false accusations" & "lies".
to combat this, he says that you should "protect your ears from damaging noise by not listening to it", comparing it to wearing "noise canceling headphones".

To combat this, he says that you should "protect your ears from damaging noise by not listening to it", comparing it to wearing "noise canceling headphones". He emphasises that when confronted with conflicting information we should pray to jehovah for help to "stop listening" and "put on our headphones", perhaps by literally listening to JW programs.
Anthony Morris the 💩 then gives some incredibly hypocritical advice to the rank and file in how they speak to others. He says to "mind your own business" and then says "we refrain from imposing our uninspired opinions upon others". 😳 That's literally what the GB does for a living, imposing their self-admitted uninspired opinions on millions.

Within the last couple months, Stephen Lett announced that we are now living in the "final part of the final part of the last days, shortly before the last day of the last days". Not joking.

JW News
by neat blue dog inthe latest news release on jwdotorg concludes with the sentence: "more information will be provided on jw news as we confirm the details of this ongoing situation.".
i just thought it was funny them using the capitalized phrase "jw news" now.

Anointed Grandmother wakes up
by Terry inanointed great grandmother who woke upi arrived at the coffee shop on my bicycle and took up a seat at the outdoor table in the fresh air.
(this was way before the pandemic).. a lady with permed white hair walked over to my table and spoke directly to me.. i was wearing earbuds at that moment and didn’t hear.
i popped them out and asked her to repeat herself.. “that’s a beautiful bicycle you have there.

It's okay, anyone can copy and paste the web address even though it isn't clickable. So petty.

Is Silent Lambs and Bill Bowen still relevant?
by HappyDad inwhen i joined this forum in 2004, silent lambs was a very important venue for those who suffered the crime of child abuse in the jehovah's witness religion.
bill bowen was instrumental in exposing a lot of the cover up along with barbara anderson.
i was wondering if silent lambs is still relevant and does it still help abuse victims?.

Apostolic succession is a real thing. Matthias was chosen to replace Judas Iscariot.
I hardly think that proves apostolic succession, which asserts that a FAITHFUL TO DEATH apostle must be replaced. Judas wasn't replaced because he died physically, but, well, you know. Even Paul made a similar illustration about Christians being 'grafted in' to the vine

"The Twelve" was also likely the nickname of this inner circle group.
Exactly, unlike "apostle" which was not exclusive.

That's what the Bible Students used to assert (new light didn't come until a century later), but I don't think that is correct. After all, Paul talked about Jesus appearing to "the twelve" and then says 'last of all he appeared to me', so I think it's pretty apparent the word apostle is used literally as a descriptive term.
